Red Nose Day

Red Nose Day

Friday, April 1, 2011, Red Nose march took place, an event now in its third edition. The march is part of Red Nose Day, an international day that was born on December 25, 1985, in Great Britain, in response of the civilized world to the hunger problem with which the Black Continent, and Ethiopia in particular was facing.
The purpose of the march organized by the Caritas Eparhial Oradea was to bring a smile on the lips of Oradea’s population and distribution of shaped balloons to children. Also, the clowns were able to self-promote and at the same time to bring attention to the idea of volunteering to Oradea `s population. It was an opportunity for them to manifest itself outside the hospital, where they occasionally work.
The march was attended by 19 young volunteers from Caritas Eparhial Oradea, youth who are either clown for a few years, or are emerging clowns following the clown’s course in this period.
Messages like "A smile does not cost" and "Smile please" have made the people in the street at least for a few moments, to forget problems, to escape from the humdrum of daily life and, finally, to smile.
