When we hear about Christmas, we firstly think about presents, pork sausage or families, carols or the smell of pine. Caritas Eparhial Oradea Association employees give up the commercial aspect of Christmas and truly lived the Christmas spirit. Therefore, on Christmas Day, these had lunch with the beneficiaries of “Hot meal” program. They were joined by the Greek-Catholic bishop of Oradea, Virgil Bercea. The hierarch not sitting at the corner of the table, as used to make high clergymen, but sat down with the poor, shacked their hands, had a glass of wine with them, caroled and chat, trying to know about their problems and to encourage them.

The poor got a specific lunch according to the Christmas holydays (appetizers, soup, forcemeat rolls in cabbage leafs, steak, sweets and sponge cake).

“It is a shame not to live this emotion. Nowadays we are bombarded by marketing. But we wanted to offer them a little moment of joy, of hope, of optimism. It is a gorgeous present for these people because load of them have no families, have no one close to talk to”, told priest Olimpiu Todorean, president of Caritas Eparhial Oradea Association.
