Caritas Volunteer Day, 2011

The Festive Hall of the Greek Catholic “Iuliu Maniu” high school from Oradea, hosted Monday on the 12th of December 2011, the 6th edition of the Caritas Volunteer Day, part of the International Volunteer Day in the European Year of Volunteering, where the most active volunteers of Caritas Eparhial Oradea Association were awarded.

At the event with the volunteers were the Greek Catholic Bishop Virgil Bercea, Vice-mayor Gheorghe Carp, and representatives from Inspectorate for Emergency Situations Crişana.

“Through this awards we followed to recognize in public the merits of our most active volunteers, In 2011, 95 active volunteers from a total of 169 volunteers totalized 2.620 hours for the people in needs” told priest Olimpiu Todortean, president of the association.

So there were eight prizes, four special prizes and two “Volunteer of the year 2011” prizes.

The first prize was for “Hot meal serving” program:

For dedication and care that involved in this activity.

The prize was given to volunteer: Maria Nagy

The prize for “Good Samaritan” program:

For arranging and distributing clothes for the people in need.

The prize was given to volunteer Cristina Şuta

The prize for “Friends for a Smile” program:

For the smiles brought to the hospitalized children.

The prize was given to volunteer Timeea Szombati

The prize for “2% campaign”:

For the biggest number of distributed envelopes in 2011

The prize was given to volunteer Ana Brad

The prize for “Eastern Collect”:

For the implication in gathering food for the people in need

The prize was given to volunteer Alexandru Farc

The prize for “Fundraising”:

For the amount of hours dedicated to this activity.

The prize was given to volunteer Floare Mateşan

The prize for “Economical Activity”:

For the skill and help given for creating glothing:

The prize was given to volunteer Georgeta Bencheu

The prize for “Availability”:

For the readiness that answered to our calls.

The prize was given to volunteer Patricia Urdea

The prize “Volunteer of the year 2011”:

The winner performed over 250 hour, and he was involved in over 8 activities in the period 1th of December 2010 – 31th of August 2011.

The prize was given to volunteer Alexandru Mureşan

Special prizes

The first special prize is awarded for the faithfulness to “Hot Meal” program of the volunteer Ligia Oprean for more than 400 hours during the 4 years since 2007 spent in helping this program.

The prize for the most hours spent in the “Good Samaritan” program is awarded to volunteer Mihaela Pantea.

For the support offered in the activity of the Home Care Center this special prize is awarded to Dr. Mihaela Bokor

Last but not least, special award for volunteer Tiberiu Omilescu for helping promote our organization.

Volunteer of the year 2011

“Volunteer of the year 2011” prize was given this year to volunteer Timeea Szombati and volunteer Alexandtu Mureşan.

It has to be mentioned that the evening was animated by our young local artists such as: Boglarka Olah, Răzvan Dobai, Anamaria Mihăieş, Eduard Maliţa şi Bianca Oniţa, Ars Nova dance crew: Miriam Abrudan, Szocke Bernadett şi Miruna Herman, Carla Marin, Alexandru Cristea. The event ended with a concert from our special guest Maria Gheorghiu.
